About the Role
Via Separations’ technology is the first commercial implementation of membranes in several difficult industrial applications. The Instrument and Controls Specialist will be responsible for Instrumentation design, assist with Narrative Development of commercial systems, assist with instrumentation maintenance of all fielded systems, and FAT/SAT of fielded commercial system equipment. This individual will contribute significantly to the reliability and timeliness of execution of all deployed systems. You will be an integral member of the cross-disciplinary field services team and work alongside our external engineering partners and in-house commercial team to bring our commercial systems to fruition. This role has enormous growth potential as headcount increases, systems scale, and the organization continues to build scope and influence.
You Will
- Assist in equipment selection and maintenance strategies for instrumentation within a first of a kind system
- Develop standard operating procedures for equipment calibration and online maintenance
- Self-starter that can lead initiatives and drive them to completion in a fast pace environment
- Determine preventative maintenance frequency and interval optimization
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance Testing
- Provide instrumentation/controls input for developing accurate and quality pilot/commercial scale systems
- Generate bill of materials and spare parts strategies for commercial systems
- PLC experience with fundamental understanding of ladder logic
- Knowledge and understanding of LOTO systems from an Instrument Perspective
Preferred Skills
- Background in Refractive Index Analyzers and Conductivity Probes
- Development of standard operating procedures in a manufacturing setting
- Experience in PLC narrative development in Allen Bradley technologies
Experience & Qualifications
- Either 5+ years as an Instrument/Controls Technician in a fast pace manufacturing environment or an Engineering degree with 3+ years of experience
- Ability to understand Instrument/Control system diagrams, I/O list, data sheets, P&IDs, and PID loops
- Possesses strong knowledge on flow, pressure, temperature, and level instrumented technologies
- U.S. Work authorization is required for this role.
