Credence has an immediate need for an Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) for operational military education to support the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) at the USAF Special Operations School (USAFSOS) school. This position requires a systems thinker who is committed to continuous improvement, motivated, and dependable.
The Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) is responsible for the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of instructional materials and programs in support of the USAFSOS mission. The ISD will consult with subject matter experts (SMEs), leverage adult learning principles, and apply a range of instructional design methodologies to create engaging and effective online and face-to-face learning experiences. This position supports continuous improvement through data-driven evaluation and refinement of instructional content and delivery.
This position is onsite at Hurlburt Field, FL.
Requirements
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the duties listed below:
- Consult with subject matter experts (SMEs) to conduct thorough training needs analyses and define instructional objectives.
- Design instructional content aligned with adult learning theories, tailored for both online and face-to-face learning environments.
- Develop comprehensive courseware, including lesson plans, instructional presentations, online modules, instructor guides, and student activities.
- Select and apply appropriate instructional design strategies.
- Integrate a variety of instructional methods, such as scenario-based learning, simulation, collaborative activities, and self-paced e-learning.
- Develop tools and instruments to evaluate instructional effectiveness (e.g., assessments, surveys, rubrics, performance metrics).
- Analyze learning data and feedback to assess course effectiveness and implement iterative improvements.
- Collaborate with multimedia developers, LMS administrators, and other educational staff to ensure technical and pedagogical quality.
- Ensure courseware aligns with applicable military training standards, accreditation requirements, and institutional policies.
- Participate in course pilot testing, instructor preparation, and implementation support as needed.
Education, Requirements, And Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S citizen and able to obtain and maintain a US Government issued Secret clearance for the duration of your employment. Are you a U.S citizen?
- Bachelor’s degree in ISD or education preferred. Associate's degree in ISD or CCAF equivalent desired. Experience may be substituted for degree requirements.
- Practical knowledge of the methods and techniques of instruction and adult learning principles.
- Ability to identify behavioral outcomes, clarify instructional problems, establish goals and objectives, and identify learning environment and learner’s existing knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Intermediate knowledge of Adobe Captivate, Adobe Creative Cloud, Flash, and HTML5.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Basic knowledge of copyright and reproduction restrictions
Desired Qualifications:
- Prior experience in education/training in military environment
- Advanced academic degree in instructional design, instructional technology, education, or human performance technology
- Adaptability, solution-oriented mindset, and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Work is in an office environment with distractions.
- Extended periods of sitting or standing may be required.
