Position Overview 
We are seeking a high-performing Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) to support a client program. Our ISDs are highly motivated individuals whose primary responsibilities are to analyze, design, develop, and maintain instructional content for web-based and/or instructor-led courses and related training products; and nurture, build and sustain strategic client partnerships. Carney’s ideal candidate is passionate about instructional design and developing our solutions.

 Responsibilities 
The ideal candidate will support the client’s Training Division in order to meet the continuously changing environment which drives the need to develop and update training content. The ISD shall provide technical expertise to apply the ADDIE model. New development and maintenance may consist of eLearning asynchronous courses, virtual instructor-led courses, short format eLearning, instructor-led training, and performance support tools. 

  • Assist and guide the application of the ADDIE methodology 
  • Support activities necessary to analyze, design, develop, and create new training materials as well as sustain, update, and reconfigure training materials and products across the VBA organization supporting a vast stakeholder population. 
  • Develop instructional materials for a variety of delivery modalities to include, but not limited to: Face-to-Face instructor-led, Blended Synchronous and Asynchronous Web-based training, Virtual Instructor, and Led Training. 
  • Performance support deliveries. Include but are not limited to human performance improvement, needs assessment, test design, formative and summative evaluation, usability testing, and course validation. 
  • Test reliability and validity, diagnostic testing
  • Job and task analysis, front-end analysis, training situation analysis, competency alignment, proficiency assessments, performance support systems, and updates and maintenance as required

Minimum Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Systems Design or a field of study related to the assigned project(s) 
  • Six (6) years of relevant experience in projects of national scope, including VA initiatives and in the Federal Government arena.
  • Experience developing and implementing instructional development processes applying the ADDIE methodology

Posted Salary Range:
$60,000.00 - $150,000.00/Yr.

Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws.
The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and is based on full-time status. Part-time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements) and is just one component of Team Carney's total compensation package for employees.
