Who You Are


Ontic is looking for an Instructional Designer to plan, design, develop, implement and maintain engaging and effective learning materials and programs. This highly collaborative role will consult and collaborate with subject matter experts and key stakeholders across the organization and in varying global time zones to identify learning and enablement needs, provide solution recommendations, and drive learning program implementation. The Instructional Designer will design role specific learning paths to support the enablement of Ontic sellers, success and services teams, partners and clients. Learning curriculum will consist of product training, selling methodologies and related skills, client success frameworks, operational processes and related tools. Deliverables will include multi-medium courses, videos and modules, certifications, practical application exercises and associated learning materials. 


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in instructional design principles, a creative approach to problem-solving, knowledge of adult learning and sales methodologies and experience with technical writing. This person will also have excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively handle competing priorities and project manage stakeholders at various levels. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Needs Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to assess learning needs and identify performance gaps
  • Design & Development: Create interactive and engaging instructional materials, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training, job aids, and multi-media content, following best practices in instructional design and adult learning principles
  • Content Creation: Develop clear, engaging, and interactive content using authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and ensure alignment with learning objectives
  • Evaluation: Implement assessment tools and evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs through feedback, testing, and performance metrics. Use data to make continuous improvements
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time and within scope. Communicate progress and address any issues that arise
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure the learning solutions meet organizational needs and align with overall business goals
  • Training Delivery: Facilitate train-the-trainer sessions or provide support to facilitators as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Human Resources, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred
  • 3 plus years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or related roles. Experience with learning management software and related tools is a must
  • Proficiency in instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM)
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate)
  • Experience with Enablement platforms (e.g. Seismic, Highspot, ShowPad)
  • Experience with technical writing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross functional team
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and the fluidity to adapt to shifts in priorities
  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior levels
  • Knowledge of sales methodologies preferred
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP)) are a plus
