Position Description
CLSA Philippines is looking for a driven, commercially minded individual to join our equities desk as a Sales Associate. This is a structured development role designed to build a well rounded markets professional. Beginning with a client facing sales foundation, with a defined pathway into equity sales trading for the right candidate. Prior experience in financial services is welcome but not required.
The first phase of the role focuses on institutional sales coverage: building client relationships, distributing research, and developing market knowledge across the Philippine equity landscape. High performers with the aptitude and interest will have the opportunity to rotate into the trading desk, gaining exposure to order execution, market microstructure, and best execution disciplines. We’re looking for someone who is genuinely curious about markets, coachable, and hungry enough to earn both seats.
This isn’t a standard sales associate slot. It’s a deliberate attempt to develop someone with a full equities desk skill set. Client franchise on one side, execution capability on the other. If you want to understand how institutional markets actually work from both ends of the trade, this is the role.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
What You’ll Do (Sales Phase)
Cover and service institutional accounts. Long-only funds, hedge funds, and regional investors
Distribute CLSA/CITICS research, pitch stock ideas, and flag market-moving themes
Coordinate analyst access, roadshows, investor field trips, and conference logistics
Support deal flow as needed. ECM transactions, syndicate, and capital markets events
Build and maintain revenue rankings with regional accounts
Champion CLSA in external broker polls
What You’ll Build Toward (Trading Phase)
Execution of client orders across the Philippine equity market
Market intelligence flow. tracking liquidity, positioning, and block activity
Cross-selling CLSA execution products and solutions to the institutional client base
Working closely with global execution desks and internal sales & research teams
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in any field. Finance is a plus, not a prerequisite
2+ years of experience in a client-facing, fast-paced environment. Financial services, consulting, sales, or any role where you had to manage multiple stakeholders and move fast
Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships, not just managing them
Someone who follows up without being asked, juggles competing priorities without dropping the ball, and reads a room well
Bloomberg or market data experience is a bonus.
Strong communicator in English, written and spoken.
SEC license (equities/fixed income) is an advantage but not required

Skills Required
- Bachelor degree holder or above in Finance or related disciplines
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in the financial industry with focus in sales
- Strong interpersonal, people management and negotiations skills
- Good communication in written and spoken English
