Job Description: FX / Rates Macro – Financial Institutional Sales

Overview

The FX/Rates Macro Financial Institutional Sales role is responsible for originating, structuring, and executing macro products—including FX, interest rate derivatives, and cross‑currency solutions—for financial institution clients such as asset managers, insurers, hedge funds, sovereigns, and banks. The role acts as a bridge between clients and the trading desk, providing market insights, delivering liquidity, and driving revenue growth across flow and structured products.

Key Responsibilities

Client Coverage & Relationship Management

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of financial institutional clients, including asset managers, pension funds, insurance companies, hedge funds, sovereign wealth funds, and banks.
  • Develop deep, trusted relationships with clients by understanding their investment objectives, hedging needs, and risk appetite.
  • Proactively identify client opportunities across FX spot/forwards, swaps, IRS, cross-currency swaps, NDFs, and options.
  • Coordinate internal resources (trading, research, structuring, risk, credit) to deliver best‑in‑class solutions.

Sales & Execution

  • Execute FX and rates transactions in partnership with trading desks, ensuring best execution and adherence to regulatory and internal guidelines.
  • Generate trade ideas leveraging macroeconomic themes, yield‑curve views, and cross‑market relationships.
  • Provide pricing, market color, and liquidity solutions in real time.
  • Support the end‑to‑end trade lifecycle, including booking, documentation, onboarding, term sheet preparation, and post‑trade follow‑up.

Revenue & Business Development

  • Contribute to revenue targets across flow and structured macro products.
  • Identify white‑space opportunities and growth areas within the client book.
  • Work closely with product management and digital channels to enhance e‑FX / e‑Rates penetration and client experience.
  • Support strategic initiatives such as platform enhancement, cross‑selling, and multi‑asset collaboration.

Qualifications & Skills

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of FX and interest rates products (spot, forwards, swaps, options, cross-currency swaps).
  • Solid grasp of macroeconomics, central bank policy, and global market dynamics.
  • Proficiency with Bloomberg, market analytics tools, and pricing systems.
  • Ability to interpret risk metrics (PV01, delta, gamma, vega, VaR).

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and client‑facing skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving ability, commercial mindset, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑moving market environment.
  • Team-oriented, collaborative, and able to coordinate across multiple stakeholders.

Background

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
  • Prior experience in macro sales, trading, structuring, or research is highly beneficial
