Area of Responsibility and Purview: Institutional relationship manager within the Asset Management function
Role Specific Job Duties:
• Primarily focused on servicing high-value clients and/or clients with complex needs
• Senior mentor for other relationship managers on the team; regularly providing guidance and feedback on best practices and opportunities for Private Wealth products and services
• Point of escalation within the team for resolving time sensitive client inquiries
• Works collaboratively with other functions in Private Wealth to resolve complex client related issues, escalations, and special projects
• Demonstrate a high level of teamwork with a focus on achieving business unit and team goals. Be a positive influence in the group
• Report operational risk irregularities or concerns
Function Specific Job Duties:
• Manage a book of Institutional client relationships aimed at retention and expansion
• Continuously focus on improving client satisfaction and engagement with staff and board members
• Ensure all agreed upon client service levels are met
• Responsible for new client onboarding, including legal documentation and authority resolution updates
• Drive regular meeting schedules and establish reporting cycles with clients
• Partner with other UMB LOBs (Capital Markets/Commercial/Business Banking) to ensure all client service needs and requirements are met
• Coordinate internal resources within Private Wealth to deliver services and to resolve client issues if they arise
• Share industry expertise and best practices with clients
• Coordinate and manage sponsorship requests
• Deliver reports demonstrating that all standards of care and agreed upon service levels are achieved
• Keep up to date the pipeline of all new business expansion opportunities across relationships
• Based on client interactions and input from team associates, proactively identity new ways to enhance UMB’s value proposition in the marketplace
• Complete all administrative duties as required and on time, including travel and expense reports
• Assist the Private Wealth Management team in strategic planning activities, as assigned
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements MINIMUM:
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or combination of education and experience that provides and equivalent background
• 5+ years of applicable experience
- Must have, or possess ability to obtain, the Series 65 registration within 120 days of employment
