We are seeking a talented individual to join our Wealth team at Mercer, a Marsh business. This role can be based in Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Seattle, or St. Louis and offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office.
As an Institutional Investment Consulting Associate, you will play a key role in supporting investment advice for a diverse range of institutional clients and collaborating with experts to build portfolios, evaluate asset managers, and analyze portfolio performance. You’ll ensure clear communication of critical updates and assist in managing consulting relationships through meeting coordination, project management, and timely delivery of reports. This is a dynamic opportunity to develop deep industry knowledge while contributing to impactful client outcomes!
We will count on you to:
Examine and monitor developments at investment management firms and communicate relevant updates to clients
Manage projects by ensuring timely, high quality client deliverables, delegating work to analysts, providing guidance, and ensuring peer review
Produce accurate and detailed client reports through analysis of client-specific investment data, ongoing investment performance, and manager monitoring
Liaise with investment managers and custodians to gather and clarify client-specific data for reporting or any other client-related matters
Support investment manager searches, investment structure reviews, mutual fund selection, asset allocation studies, new business presentations, and other investment-related activities
Participate in quarterly or ad-hoc client meetings
Analyze and edit investment policy statements and conduct strategic portfolio structure and asset allocation analysis
What you need to have:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with coursework in business or investment-related courses
2-5 years of relevant investment experience
Actively pursuing or willing to obtain the CFA, CAIA, CIMA, or CIPM designation
Knowledge of performance calculations, risk metrics, and portfolio construction
Self-motivated and effective in a highly collaborative team environment
Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a rapidly changing, dynamic setting
Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills
High-level attention to detail and an understanding of its impact on the bigger picture
Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with industry trends and market conditions
Adaptability and decisiveness
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
