Role Summary 

As the Institutional Giving & Fundraising Communications Manager, you will play a unique and essential role in advancing our fundraising efforts by managing grant opportunities, preparing strong proposals and reports, and supporting key donor-facing communications. In doing so, you will work closely with Development, Program, Operations, Finance, and Marketing to track deliverables, steward institutional funders, and tell the story of our agency’s work. Your detail-oriented writing and coordination will help us secure funding, maintain strong funder relationships, and create high-quality materials that reflect our mission and impact.

Key Responsibilities 

Grant Writing, Reporting, and Compliance 

  • Manage a portfolio of corporate, foundation, and government grant opportunities, including maintaining the grants calendar, preparing proposals, submitting materials, and meeting all deadlines. 
  • Write and edit grant proposals and reports that align with funder requirements, agency priorities, program impact, and current organizational needs. 
  • Steward institutional funders through timely reporting, clear communication, and ongoing engagement with corporate, foundation, and government partners. 
  • Support grant compliance and documentation needs, including government grant requirements, timesheet tracking, required signatures, activity coding, and internal reporting. 
  • Prospect, cultivate, and win new institutional funding opportunities that align with the agency’s mission and program priorities, including by building relationships with high-potential institutional donors 

Cross-Department Collaboration and Data Management 

  • Work collaboratively with Development, Program, Operations, Finance, and Marketing teams to ensure grant deliverables, budgets, reporting needs, and funder expectations are met. 
  • Partner with internal teams to gather program updates, impact data, match stories, and other materials needed for proposals, reports, donor communications, and fundraising collateral. 
  • Support the Development team in maintaining clean, accurate fundraising data and improving database use, reporting structures, and grant-related tracking. 

Annual Communications and Fundraising Materials 

  • Manage annual external communications projects, including annual reports, annual mailing campaigns, scholarship fundraising campaigns, and other donor-facing materials. 
  • Work with Marketing and external vendors to ensure fundraising materials are accurate, well-designed, mission-aligned, and consistent with agency messaging and brand standards. 
  • Create and deliver a monthly donor newsletter highlighting agency successes in collaboration with Development, Program, Operations, Finance, and Marketing teams 

Basic Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant work experience 
  • Availability to work full-time. Hours may include evenings and weekends 
  • Prior marketing and/or content creation experience 
  • Proven comfort working with databases, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.  
  • Proven writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for different funders, audiences, and communication formats 
  • Proven organization and time management skills to complete a high volume of varied responsibilities in a fast-paced setting 

Desired Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant work experience 
  • Demonstrated comfort and ability to work with and motivate a wide variety of people  
  • Ability to successfully work independently and in a team environment 
  • Enthusiasm, creativity, a positive sense of humor, and a “can-do” attitude 
  • Prior experience with budgeting and accounting principles 
  • Excellent strategic problem-solving ability with a positive, “can-do” attitude 
  • Knowledge of Tableau, Office 365 suite 

Salary Range: $89,000 - 105,000
