Join OCBC’s Institutional Equities Distribution team as an Equity Sales Trader. In this role, you will manage and grow relationships with the trading teams from a diverse range of institutional clients including sovereign wealth funds, hedge funds, family offices, private banks, and corporates across Asia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily responsibilities will include tracking global financial news, market trends, and price fluctuations across multiple asset classes to provide clients with timely and pertinent market insights.
  • Delivering high-touch service with daily market updates, trade ideas, and research insights.
  • Ensure trade execution quality and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Support equities product distribution in partnership with Sales, Research, and Equity Capital Markets (ECM).
  • Assist in the distribution of  ECM deals such as IPOs, equity placements, rights offerings, and preferential offerings.
  • Source and execute block trade opportunities and expand client access to OCBC’s equity products and  stock lending
  • Identify  new business opportunities by analysing market trends and client behaviour, and proactively sharing these insights to boost revenue through higher trading volumes.
  • Work closely with clients and internal teams (IT, Risk, Compliance) to resolve issues concerning FIX connections and OMS/EMS platforms.
  • Assist with onboarding of new clients

Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience as a sales trader or execution trader in a multi-asset environment.
  • Strong existing institutional equity client relationships.
  • Familiarity with algorithmic trading strategies (TWAP, VWAP, POV, Implementation Shortfall, etc.).
  • Ability to manage high-touch  client flows, with an emphasis on responsiveness and service excellence.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced trading environment
  • Proficiency in Bloomberg Terminal, UL, FIS
