Institutional Data and Reporting Analyst – Registrar and Institutional Effectiveness
The College seeks a detail-oriented and analytical professional to serve as Institutional Data and Reporting Analyst supporting both the Office of the Registrar and the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness. This position is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing institutional data to support strategic planning, accreditation, external reporting, and student records operations.
Reporting to the Registrar and Director of Institutional Effectiveness, the Institutional Data and Reporting Analyst provides timely and accurate data to internal and external constituents while ensuring compliance with FERPA and institutional data governance standards. The successful candidate serves as a collaborative partner across the institution, working with colleagues to identify challenges, developing data-informed solutions, and supporting outcomes that advance the College's mission and strategic priorities.
Essential Responsibilities

Develop and maintain institutional dashboards and reports using Power BI.

Coordinate external reporting and survey submissions, including IPEDS, the Common Data Set, U.S. News, College Board, NCAA, and NC-SARA.

Extract, analyze, and interpret data from the College's Student Information System and related databases.

Maintain data repositories and reporting structures that support longitudinal analysis, institutional effectiveness, and strategic planning.

Provide analytical support for accreditation activities, academic program review, benchmarking studies, and departmental projects.

Produce Registrar-related reports and academic calculations, including Dean's List, honor society eligibility, and academic standing reports.

Administer course evaluation and student survey systems and analyze resulting data.

Conduct data audits and quality assurance reviews to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with FERPA and institutional policies.

Provide training and support to campus users of reporting and analytics tools.

Document reporting procedures and maintain consistent data definitions and practices.

Demonstrate ownership of projects and outcomes by proactively identifying issues, recommending solutions, and working collaboratively across departments to resolve challenges that affect institutional operations.

Remain informed about emerging technologies, analytics practices, and artificial intelligence tools that can improve efficiency, reporting, and institutional effectiveness.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with coursework in computer science, data analytics, data science, statistics, or a related field.

Experience maintaining and querying relational databases and extracting data for reporting and analysis using SQL, Access, or similar tools.

Advanced spreadsheet skills, including pivot tables and data analysis functions.

Ability to communicate analytical findings clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.

Demonstrated curiosity, adaptability, and willingness to continuously develop skills related to data analytics, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in higher education, institutional research, or registrar operations.

Familiarity with higher education reporting requirements and accreditation processes.

Experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence platforms and visualization tools.

Knowledge of student information systems such as Jenzabar, Banner, Colleague, or similar enterprise systems.

Experience with statistical software such as SPSS.
