Our Insights Associate is a data-driven retail strategist responsible for translating consumer, category, and performance data into clear growth opportunities for Bluebird and our brand partners. This role sits at the intersection of retail analytics, category strategy, and client enablement—helping teams prioritize the right products, price points, and investments to win at retail. This role supports the entire Bluebird Team by delivering insights that guide assortment, pricing, promotions, and go-to-market decisions.
Responsibilities
1. Consumer & Shopper Insights
- Analyze shopper behavior, purchase patterns, and category performance to understand what drives consumer decisions.
- Use quantitative and qualitative data to identify consumer needs, preferences, and motivations.
2. Trend & Market Analysis
- Conduct market and category research to identify emerging consumer and industry trends.
- Stay informed on retail and competitive dynamics to anticipate shifts in demand.
3. Retail & Category Opportunity
- Evaluate the retail landscape to identify assortment, pricing, and category growth opportunities.
- Use data-driven insights to recommend new items, line extensions, or category expansions.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Sales, Search, Insights, and Client Teams to align insights with key business priorities and timelines.
- Support shared KPIs and performance tracking to help drive growth across accounts.
5. Data Storytelling & Reporting
- Translate complex data into clear, compelling stories through reports, visuals, and presentations.
- Deliver insights such as market trends, pricing analysis, and category opportunities to inform decision-making.
6. Process Improvement
- Help build and refine processes that improve how insights are collected, analyzed, and shared.
- Continuously look for ways to increase efficiency, clarity, and impact of the Insights function.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Analytics, Economics, or a related field
- Experience in retail analytics, category management, merchandising, or buying
- Strong proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, reporting tools, dashboards, etc.)
- Ability to synthesize large amounts of data into clear business recommendations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working in ambiguity and challenging existing assumptions
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Self-starter who can operate with minimal oversight and strong ownership
