This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Performance and Culture team within our People Function. We design and deliver compelling colleague propositions which help make us a great place to work.  Together, our efforts will drive a high performing culture, ensure people want to stay with us and strengthen a strong and exciting employer brand to attract new talent.

Our Organisational Culture team is responsible for our Employee listening strategy, including our Culture & Pulse surveys. It is hugely important to hear from our colleagues across the organisation to continue to foster a high performing, customer first and inclusive culture. Within the insight team, you will be responsible for analysing large data sets and producing actionable insight, which drives action to continuously improve colleague experience across Nationwide and help inform our culture intervention plan.

We are happy to consider flexible working approaches to help you perform at your best.

At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.

For this role, you'll be based at your nearest regional office or hub. We value time spent together to connect with colleagues for collaboration so there will be a regular requirement to attend our Swindon site approximately once per month. If you are based at an office location, you'll be expected to meet our hybrid working requirement of at least two days a week, or 40% of your working time if part-time, in the office. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works.

If we receive a high volume of relevant applications, we may close the advert earlier than the advertised date, so please apply as soon as you can.

Responsibilities

What you’ll be doing

You will take a data led approach to create tangible cultural insight from a broad range of data, external trends and internal proof points to support stakeholders and drive change across the organisation to achieve our strategic goals.

Analysis of the Culture and Pulse Surveys is a significant part of this role throughout our annual cycle, including analysis of scores, verbatim comments and producing reports for a senior audience.

Other core responsibilities include engagement with the culture reps, continuing to advance data analysis and problem solving to deliver on complex insight requests.

About you

  • Extensive experience handling large, complex data sets and producing actionable insight.

  • Highly skilled in Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas) to analyse and present data effectively.

  • Confident in creating high-quality PowerPoint presentations for senior audiences.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly.

  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement to understand needs and deliver impactful insights.

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and developing solutions for complex challenges.

  • Experienced in gathering qualitative insights through interviews and focus groups.

  • Comfortable using AI tools (including Microsoft Copilot) to support generation of insight. You know when to challenge outputs, apply contextual understanding and use human judgement to turn data into compelling stories, clear recommendations and better business outcomes.

Our customer first behaviours put customers and members at the heart of how we work together. They are the set of behaviours that every colleague needs to display, in every role:

  • Feel what customers feel - We step into our customers’ shoes, using their feedback and insights to empathise with them and to understand their needs, so that every decision we make starts and finishes with our customers in mind

  • Say it straight - We are brave in speaking out and saying what we think – we’re honest and direct with good intent, openly sharing diverse perspectives to reach the best conclusions and using language everyone can understand

  • Push for better - We don’t settle for mediocrity, we challenge the status quo, taking responsibility for continuous improvement and personal development

  • Get it done - We prioritise what will have the greatest impact, we are decisive, and we take accountability for delivering brilliant customer outcomes

You can strengthen your application by showing how our customer first behaviours resonate with you, and where you may have already demonstrated these.
