Teledyne Marine Seismic designs and manufactures high-quality, reliable, and durable marine seismic exploration products.  For over five decades Teledyne has set the standard for marine geophysical exploration equipment. The Inside Sales Support position will provide administrative support for Inside Sales department. Consistently works on complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues. Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments. May participate in Customer Service activities and Trade Compliance responsibilities to support Business Site.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist in creating quotations and converting quotations to orders.
  • Assist with customer outreach and engagement and in setting up prospective customer processes.
  • Responsible for customer service and issue resolution when needed.
  • Responsible for providing status updates on order production to applicable stakeholders.
  • May assist with travel arrangements and expense reports.
  • Conducts research, analyzes data, determines approach, compiles and prepares reports/recommendations for management decision making.
  • Participate in tradeshows, technical bulletins, and quality system development.
  • Organizes and maintains file system, files correspondence and other records.
  • Coordinates and arranges meetings, reserves and prepares facilities, and may record minutes of meetings.
  • May coordinate activities between departments and outside parties. Contacts company personnel at all organizational levels to gather information and prepare reports.
  • Participate in weekly sales team meetings.
  • Perform compliance management regarding EUCs and OCR screening and may participate in other Trade Compliance responsibilities.

Requirements:

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

3+ years of experience in a clerical and/or administrative support role; Certificate in a related specialized function or associate’s degree in related field and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills                                             

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills                                                 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.  Ability to calculate figures and amounts, proportions, percentages, area, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

Reasoning Ability                                                     

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills                                            

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have advanced knowledge MS Office, including PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and Word applications. Experienced with ERP/MRP Software (IFS preferred).

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, or be mobile throughout the facility.
  • Ability to research, comprehend and retain job related information and instructions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet requirements.
  • Ability to frequently work at a computer performing data entry and extracting data for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to occasionally move about to access file cabinets and office equipment.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Ability to convert units of measurement.
  • Frequently uses computer and operates office equipment (phone, printers, copiers etc.).
  • Frequently communicates with managers, employees, and suppliers. Must be able to exchange accurate information.
  • Ability to read and accurately interpret information – including technical details.
  • Must be able to organize work area.
  • U.S. Person for access to ITAR-Controlled Technical Data.
