Position Summary:

Due to tremendous growth, Morgan Engineering is seeking an Inside Sales Specialist to join our team in the Detroit, MI area.

The Inside Sales Specialist plays a critical role in translating inspection findings into detailed, accurate, and timely repair quotations. This position is responsible for reviewing completed inspection reports, identifying deficiencies, and developing actionable repair and modernization proposals for customers.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical understanding of overhead cranes with estimating expertise to ensure all recommendations are clearly defined, cost-effective, and aligned with customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Review inspection reports and identify repair needs
  • Develop accurate repair and modernization quotes
  • Work with technicians to confirm scope, details, and requirements
  • Verify key information (photos, measurements, equipment data)
  • Prioritize safety and compliance-related repairs
  • Support sales team with quotes and follow-ups
  • Track quote activity and help improve conversion rates
  • Assist with customer renewals and ongoing service needs
  • Help drive revenue from inspection-identified repairs
  • Improve turnaround time on quotes

Education/Experience

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of experience in estimating, maintenance, or repair of overhead cranes or industrial equipment
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical crane systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and inspection reports
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software (experience with ERP systems a plus)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cost development
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
