Inside Sales Representative

Metals USA is seeking an Inside Sales Representative in Greensboro NC. Metals USA is a solid, growth oriented, carbon steel (plate, beam and tube) distribution center servicing the defense, commercial, construction, aerospace and fabrication industries.

Responsibilities:

  • Generates value added business and introduces products to established clients with the coordination of the Outside Sales Representative.
  • Maintains key customers to ensure a continued base of profitable industrial business.
  • Identifies the target lead decision maker in order to initiate the sale.
  • Provides profitable transactional business through solicitation, quoting, email or other tools to grow the business.
  • Estimates & quotes customer projects; plans and executes the sales plan; responds to the customer's request and collaborates with cross-functional departments to ensure timely delivery of customer product.

Physical Demands:

Occupation requires being sedentary greater than or equal to 80% of the time (> 7 hours per day)

  • Sitting, standing, hearing, talking, handling/fingering, reach outward, reach above shoulder, walk, climb, squat or kneel, bend
  • Lift, carry, push and/or pull up to a maximum of 25 pounds without assistance.
  • Regularly required to work on multiple concurrent tasks with constant interruptions
  • Position requires some limited travel

Work Environment:

May be exposed to some of the following working conditions.

  • Position works primarily in an office/cubicle environment.
  • Constant Telephone Activity; must have a high comfort level of initiating conversation
  • Moderate noise levels
  • Dust, fumes and airborne particles
  • When travel is required, will be exposed to varying outdoor weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Construction Management or related field.
  • Three to Five year of industrial sales experience; preferably in structural steel/ fabrication sales
  • Ability to communicate effectively with professional demeanor to ensure sales success
  • Ability to learn new skills and technology

Metals USA offers a competitive starting hourly range of $27.50 - $29.00 and benefits plus upward mobility professional growth.
