Position Overview

The Inside Sales Representative supports sales growth by partnering closely with territory managers and agronomists to engage prospective and existing customers and advance sales opportunities. This role plays a key part in lead generation, qualification, and follow‑up, helping ensure strong coverage across assigned regions. Responsibilities include frequent phone and email communication with customers, maintaining and updating contacts and distribution lists in Salesforce, and collaborating with marketing on content and outreach initiatives. This position operates with a high level of autonomy and is well suited for someone with an agriculture background who communicates confidently, manages details accurately, and works independently while supporting broader sales objectives. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to take feedback professionally, navigate challenging conversations constructively, and stay focused in a fast‑paced, customer‑driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grow portfolio of customer accounts by contacting dormant and potential customers/clients and assist to maintain and develop existing business with assigned accounts.

  • Monitor ongoing sales and assists on day-to-day customer needs, providing details on product availability, assist customers with challenges.

  • Effectively use CRM to capture information about customers and prospects.

  • Manage leads through The Anderson’s website and participate in other marketing activities such as promotional campaigns as needed.

  • Manage administrative duties such as sales reporting, analysis, contract updates and other needs of the business as delegated.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required; major in agriculture business, agriculture communications, or related field strongly preferred

  • Agriculture experience strongly preferred

  • 2-3 years’ relevant experience required

  • Prior experience collaborating with marketing preferred

  • Minimal travel required of this position
