Summary
The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for handling over-the-counter parts sales and serving as a key point of contact for customers and internal teams. This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service, processing orders accurately, and maintaining strong relationships to drive repeat business and revenue growth. The position requires close collaboration with Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to ensure timely fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer parts inquiries and requests from Account Managers.
- Accurately process orders, create quotes, and ensure timely communication with customers.
- Develop and maintain customer accounts, promoting repeat business and addressing customers promptly.
- Actively participate in the Company’s safety programs and follow safety protocols.
- Enter customer orders and update as needed, coordinating with Supply Chain to meet delivery and packing requirements.
- Ensure timely updates on order status and proactively resolve issues with pricing, order fulfillment, or customer concerns.
- Monitor market trends and customers’ needs to recommend product alternatives that offer cost savings or better delivery options.
- Assist customers in identifying correct parts and provide technical support as needed.
- Communicate competitive market insights and customer feedback to management for strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement new sales strategies aimed at improving customer service and increasing parts sales.
Education & Certifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or Supply Chain or related field preferred.
- Equivalent industry experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Work Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in sales, inventory management, or procurement.
- Knowledge of natural gas engines and compressors is strongly preferred.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with ERP systems preferred.
- Ability to interpret technical information and assist customers with part identification.
- Basic financial literacy and attention to detail.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks such as kneeling, standing, and walking for extended periods.
