Primary Function:

The Inside Sales Manager is responsible for managing the performance of all OEM customers within the assigned region, with the target goal of cultivating new business and maintaining and/or growing existing business. The Inside Sales Manager will be the key contact within the OEM team for generating sales contacts and leads using our B2B marketing tool (currently 6Sense). The Inside Sales Manager will work hand-in-hand with the Sales Director and Regional Sales Manager’s on creating leads in new and existing markets.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Meets or exceeds territory sales revenue forecast as established by the OEM Sales Director, and Business Unit management.

  • Build relationships with OEM personnel across their organization including; C-Suite, Engineering, Purchasing, and Operations

  • Manage “project” activity in the assigned territory, including product offering, recommended pricing levels, and establish sales strategy while following company policies and objectives.

  • Executes business plan elements designed to meet or exceed annual product and service sales goals, and target account and market objectives.

  • Coordinate and facilitate implementation of e-business initiatives, including adding customer’s to VikingConnect

  • Handles requests regarding customer expediting, rescheduling, pricing, and quotations.

  • Serve as a liaison between customers and factory personnel.

  • Systematically review customers’ orders status and proactively coordinate with Manufacturing and Purchasing to ensure superior on-time delivery and responsiveness.

  • Communicate product and policy changes to assigned customers

  • Roll-out pricing initiatives as directed by the OEM Sales Director.

  • Communicate to customers any changes affecting scheduling, pricing, and delivery.

  • Proactively contact customers to identify that needs are being met and solicit feedback on performance.

  • Provide quotations on behalf of Viking Pump using standard list prices with set multipliers.

  • Measure work including: customer contacts, quote hit rates, order rates.

  • Provide appropriate services to customer contacts, quote hit rates, and order rates.

  • Primary contact from the field regarding possible warranty issues and any follow up that is required.

  • Follow up to prospective sales leads.

  • Participate in sales initiatives and programs.

  • Assist in training of internal employees.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service or sales in a technical area of a company, preferably in Marketing, Sales or Engineering.

  • College degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or other relevant field.

OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must work well in a team environment.

  • Willing to Travel up to 10%

  • Must be customer focused.

  • Must have good organizational skills and be able to handle multiple tasks.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Experience with JD Edwards a plus.

  • Experience with CRM/Salesforce a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex, write by hand and keyboard, and perform general office functions.

  • Ability to communicate by speech and hearing via phone, Microsoft Teams and in person.

  • Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.

  • General manufacturing, warehouse and office environment.

  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate with customers, suppliers and all levels of corporate and company personnel.
