The role

The Inside Sales Specialist is responsible for (over-) achieving revenue objectives within the assigned territory (UK and Benelux regions) by building business relationships, proposing solutions to foster and improve the customer’s experience, advancing their research and create a loyal customer base by using phone and other digital business tools. The role requires close collaborative teamwork with the field sales team. Extensive cross functional collaborations with additional departments including regional marketing, customer service and technical support are essential in this role. Updating Pricing of new items in the CRM System to ensure customer satisfaction will be an additional task. This role is office based at our EMEA Headquarters (Leiden, NL).

You'll have the opportunity to...

  • To establish & maintain long term partnerships with both new and existing customers.
  • Effectively applying the highest level of product & scientific knowledge to customer needs, workflow applications.
  • Apply logic and a clear understanding of the company’s operational processes, market position, to identify and qualify leads, prospects, and incoming business enquiries into business revenue.
  • To identify, evaluate and execute opportunities to supply products to both existing and prospective customers.
  • To (over-) achieve revenue targets in assigned territory of the UK and Benelux regions, by developing and executing account/territory specific plans.
  • Support field sales team where required by attending trade shows/events and customer visits in line with the operational plans of the region.
  • Align with global and European marketing activities and promotions to proactively target customers and drive revenue.
  • To embraces industry practices and utilizes appropriate business tools to drive customer interactions. 
  • To conduct outbound calls with existing customers to maintain longstanding relationships, increase awareness of our product offering, with ultimate aim of cross and upselling the CST portfolio of products.
  • To proactively prospect for new business.
  • To create/maintain and regularly update customer records within the CST CRM system.
  • To work effectively in an cross-functional environment to ensure full transparency of information at all times.
  • To be a representative of CST and its core values & competencies to both internal and external customers.
  • To develop and execute a tactical sales plan based to drive a solution-selling approach.
  • To report out regularly on market dynamics, funding opportunities and competitive activities.
  • To accurately update timely forecasts for the assigned territory.

Who you are and what you bring to the team...

  • A minimum of Master degree in Cell Biology, Immunology or similar.
  • Proven experience in working within an international environment.
  • Excellent customer relationship skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and in writing.
  • Dutch & English Language speaker (French speaking is a desirable).
  • 1–2 years of commercial experience is preferred.
  • Skilled socially, and highly capable to adapt into different cultures and situations.
  • Highly Ambitious
  • Willingness to be in the Leiden office a minimum of 2-3 days per week.
