The Inside Project Manager supports the planning, coordination, and execution of fabrication projects involving sheet metal, heavy plate, and structural steel. This role works closely with senior project managers, estimators, engineering, and shop supervisors to ensure projects move smoothly from kickoff through delivery. It’s a hands‑on, detail‑oriented position ideal for someone who enjoys technical work, fast‑paced environments, and learning how complex builds come together.

Location/Schedule: Macon, GA / 1st shift 


Requirements

What You’ll Do: 

  • Coordinate internal project activities from contract award through final shipment 
  • Review fabrication drawings, cut lists, and BOMs for accuracy and completeness 
  • Track material orders, vendor lead times, and delivery schedules 
  • Communicate daily with engineering, purchasing, and shop leads to maintain workflow alignment 
  • Update project schedules, status reports, and internal tracking systems 
  • Assist with change orders, RFIs, and documentation updates 
  • Monitor project costs, labor hours, and material usage against budget 
  • Support quality control processes by ensuring documentation and inspections are completed 
  • Coordinate documentation and logistics for outgoing fabricated components 
  • Participate in production meetings and follow up on action items 
  • Help identify bottlenecks and propose process improvements 

Who You Are: 

  • Experience or education in manufacturing, industrial technology, engineering, or project management 
  • Basic understanding of fabrication processes such as cutting, forming, welding, machining, and finishing 
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication details (or willingness to learn quickly) 
  • Strong organizational and communication skills 
  • Comfortable working in both office and shop‑floor environments 
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, scheduling tools, or project management software 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accuracy under pressure 
  • 2D/3D design experience utilizing Autocad/Solidworks or equivalent would be preferred
