Overview:For five generations, Boar’s Head has been innovating. From our first premium ham launched during the height of the Depression to the first branded Delicatessens in retail supermarkets, Boar’s Head has been at the forefront of Deli innovation. Charged with creating and concepting a new vision for Deli, our Innovation team is in search of an experienced project manager. The ideal candidate will bring a high level of business acumen to see the big picture as well as project management expertise. This role is instrumental in helping bring successful innovations to market with speed and efficiency.
Job Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- In partnership with Innovation Strategists, create and maintain structured project roadmaps that document project timelines, milestones, key decisions and communicating updates.
- Coordinates resource assignments, both internal and external, in collaboration with team leaders by ensuring all project team members have visibility and understanding of project expectations
- Drives internal project meetings (e.g., discovery, status meetings, reviews, etc.), making relevant contributions, and generating collaborative discussion to drive action. Thoroughly documents meeting outcomes and next steps.
- Establish strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Consolidates direction from all stakeholders to ensure one voice to external partners.
- Project manages an extended team to ensure compliance for the timely turnaround of internal/external deliverables and alignment on strategy and output.
- Create and maintain a repository for Innovation learnings.
- Assist team leads with experiments & sub-projects.
- Partner with the Managing Director of Innovation to maintain an up-to-date view of the Innovation Pipeline
- Establish and maintain relationships and engagement with external agencies and Subject Matter Experts on behalf of the Innovation Team
- Participate in group brainstorming sessions by creating & sharing new ideas, concepts, and tactical solutions to key Innovation opportunities
- Assist the Managing Director of Innovation in creating and managing the Innovation Team’s annual operating budget
- Receive and/or reconcile vendor invoices for the Innovation team.
- Facilitate new vendor setup process
- Fulfill other duties as assigned
- Ability to travel 10-15%
Required Experience and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Management or a related field.
- 5+ years of project management experience in a CPG, retail, Foodservice or related industry. Experience with an innovation team is a plus
- Experience with formal project management methodologies, but also able to create the appropriate project management tools as needed
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, and prioritize projects along with ongoing ad-hoc requests and/or initiatives
- Strong business acumen and analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Capable of seeing the big picture business and innovation strategies as well as managing the execution of project details
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills
- Highly collaborative approach
- Subject Matter Expert on project management software
- Strong organizational skills and excellent time management skills.
- Project Management certification preferred
