We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Innovation Project Manager to join our Arm & Hammer™ Specialty Products Division. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the strategic development and execution of innovative projects within the Specialty Products organization.
This role involves leading cross-functional teams to identify, conceptualize, and implement new ideas, products, and processes that align with the company's goals and objectives. The Innovation Project Manager will work closely with stakeholders across various departments to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while fostering a culture of creativity and continuous improvement.
Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Project Management:
- Lead and manage innovation projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, scope, and budget. (75% of time)
- Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement projects to enhance plant performance and enrich the customer ordering/fulfillment process. (25% of time)
- Develop detailed project plans, including resource allocation, risk management, and communication strategies.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders and senior management.
- Identify and allocate necessary resources, including personnel, budget, and technology, to support innovation projects.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Facilitate collaboration among cross-functional teams, including R&D, marketing, finance, and operations, to drive innovation initiatives.
- Act as a liaison between departments to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration by organizing workshops, brainstorming sessions, and other creative activities.
Performance Measurement:
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate the success of innovation projects.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and opportunities for improvement.
- Continuously monitor and report on the impact of innovation initiatives on business performance.
Travel Requirement:
- Up to 25%
Education and Experience
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Innovation Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Certified ScrumMaster).
- Proven experience (5+ years) in project management, preferably in innovation or product development roles.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, Scrum, PMP).
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically and creatively to solve complex problems.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, SmartSheets) and other relevant tools.
- Demonstrated ability to drive change and foster a culture of innovation within an organization.
