Tasks
• Technology scouting and trend observation in the fields of optics, lighting, imaging, sensor technology, and photonics
• Assessment of the technical feasibility and innovation potential of new concepts
• Development and construction of functional models and prototypes
• Close cooperation with internal development departments (optics, electronics, software, mechanics)
• Definition and simulation of new optical concepts
• Conducting feasibility studies and system analyses
• Supporting the transfer of innovative concepts into product development
• Identifying, developing, and registering patents and property rights
• Collaborating with research partners, universities, and technology suppliers
• Presenting concepts and results to internal committees and decision-making teams
Requirements
• A degree in physics, optics, microscopy, photonics, engineering, or a comparable field
• Several years of experience in optical system development or microscopy
• Knowledge of optical design
• Experience in experimental setup, prototyping, and system integration
• Experience with imaging, lighting systems, laser technology, or fluorescence techniques
• Understanding of mechanical and electronic interfaces in microscopes
• Ability to quickly grasp new technologies and test their applicability
