As the Innovation, Data, Analytics & Artificial Intelligence Attorney - Vice President, Senior Counsel in the APAC Legal team for the Commercial and Investment Bank, you will provide strategic legal guidance to foster the growth and enhancement of data, analytics, and AI products and services. You will collaborate with business partners across APAC and globally, assisting in the negotiation of complex agreements and offering advice on market expansion. You become part of a supportive team dedicated to integrity, inclusivity, and excellence, where your efforts contribute to business success and responsible innovation.
Job Responsibilities
  • Advise on drafting and negotiating client- and customer-facing contracts for data, analytics, and AI products and services
  • Provide day-to-day legal counsel to internal clients and partners on the development, implementation, and maintenance of technology products
  • Collaborate with business teams and colleagues in Legal, Risk, Compliance, and other control functions to resolve complex legal issues
  • Advise internal clients on legal, regulatory, and market developments in the data, analytics, and AI industries
  • Support business initiatives related to product launches and market expansion in APAC and other regions
  • Manage multiple legal matters and prioritize workflow in a fast-paced, multi-jurisdictional environment
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal partners across supported businesses
  • Ensure compliance with relevant licensing requirements for the jurisdiction
  • Contribute to a culture of integrity, inclusivity, and excellence within the legal team

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Qualified lawyer with minimum 6 years of legal experience
  • Demonstrated experience practicing with a law firm, financial institution, or technology company
  • Strong analytical, drafting, negotiating, and commercial skills
  • Knowledge of intellectual property, data management, artificial intelligence, or analytics, or related corporate transactional or litigation experience with transferrable skills
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple issues simultaneously
  • Effective problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with senior management
  • Compliance with relevant licensing requirements for the jurisdiction

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Experience at a top-tier law firm and in-house in financial services
  • Experience managing legal matters for institutional clients
  • Familiarity with regulatory and dispute resolution processes
  • Track record of supporting product launches and market expansions
  • Experience advising on legal matters in APAC markets
  • Professional qualifications attained from reputable training institutes or professional bodies
