The Role – Innersource Technology Lead

The Team

We are looking for a highly motivated Innersource Technology Lead (Software Engineering with extensive experience in GitHub) to lead our InnerSource initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to shape the Innersource program strategy, drive technical implementation of tooling, processes, and best practices, and working closely with cross-functional teams, and driving the adoption of InnerSource principles across the organization.

Responsibilities:

· Collaborate with the Innersource Board to design and implement tooling, processes, standards, and best practice.

·  GitHub Expertise: Educate and assist teams who contribute to InnerSource in their migration from Azdo and Gitlab to GitHub

· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, DevOps, and product teams to ensure successful integration of InnerSource practices within the development workflow.

· Stakeholder Management: Engage with technologists across the organization to understand their needs, gather requirements, and ensure that InnerSource solutions align with their objectives.

· Advocate for InnerSource: Promote InnerSource practices throughout the organization by leading training sessions, creating documentation, and evangelizing the benefits of open collaboration.

· Monitor & Report Progress: Design and implement mechanisms and analytics tools to track the success of InnerSource projects, report key metrics, and continuously improve processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

· Software Engineer expert in development processes, advanced knowledge on CI/CD technologies / pipelines

· Expert in repo methodologies , active contributor /evangelist , understands all open source concepts

· GitHub Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of GitHub features, including repositories, pull requests, code reviews, GitHub Actions, GitHub Issues, and workflows.

· InnerSource Methodology: Strong understanding of InnerSource principles, including code sharing, open collaboration, and community-driven development.

· Agile Methodology: Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and managing product backlogs.

· Technical Background: Solid understanding of software development processes, tools, and languages (e.g., Git, CI/CD pipelines, coding languages).Knowledge of Python , Java , C #,C++ etc

· Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.

· Problem Solving: Ability to analyze complex technical problems and offer effective solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

· GitHub Advanced Features: Experience using GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Actions, GitHub Issues and GitHub Discussions.

· Project Management Tools: Familiarity with tools such as ADO , Gitlab and Github
