You’re the first “hello” and the last “see you soon.” As Inn keeper, you’ll deliver a warm, professional, and highly personable guest experience from booking through departure while running the front desk with precision, acting as concierge, and supporting housekeeping and property care, especially on busy turnover days. What You’ll Brew:

  • Guests feel genuinely welcomed, well‑informed, and cared for from pre‑arrival to post‑stay.
  • Check‑ins/check‑outs, reservations, and phones run smoothly and professionally.
  • Front desk SOPs (opening/closing) are executed with off‑centered attention to detail.
  • Rooms and common areas meet guest‑ready standards; you pitch in with housekeeping support when needed.
  • Coffee service, retail sales, bikes, and fire features are dialed with safety and care.
  • You communicate clearly, prioritize well, and stay cool in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Front Desk & Reservations: Check guests in/out efficiently and accurately; manage reservations and waitlists. Confidently answer multi‑line phones; respond to email with clarity and courtesy. Execute daily opening and closing SOPs; maintain daily logs and shift notes. Maintain thorough working knowledge of Inn policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Guest Experience & Concierge: Act as concierge with local savvy: DFH history, beers, company lore, and Southern Delaware highlights (dining, beaches, trails, events). Resolve issues with empathy; escalate thoughtfully; follow through until resolved.
  • Tech, Systems & Cash Handling: Navigate Apple computers; use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, POS, and cloud tools. Work in Cloudbeds (PMS) to manage reservations and folios. Accurately handle cash, post charges, and reconcile small sales.
  • Retail, Coffee & Amenities: Process merch sales in the cottage POS; handle basic retail inventory, manage daily coffee/espresso program: brew, weigh, grind and support retail sales. Oversee bike rentals; perform minor maintenance (inflate tires, adjust seats/seat posts).
  • Housekeeping Support (as needed): Help ensure guest‑ready standards: strip linens, make beds, stock minibars/guest supplies, perform spot‑cleans, support laundry, and conduct final room inspections when needed. Jump in for light evening spot cleans if housekeeping has wrapped for the day.
  • Property & Safety: Safely maintain indoor/outdoor fire features (start, tend, extinguish), assist with minor grounds/building items: change lightbulbs, water plants, basic HVAC troubleshooting. Keep front‑of‑house spaces tidy, stocked, and welcoming and follow all safety, sanitation, and chemical handling procedures.

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of customer service or hospitality (front desk, guest services, or similar).
  • Comfortable with cash handling, posting charges, and basic reconciliations.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; strong general computer skills.
  • Friendly, professional communicator in person, by phone, and over email.
  • Detail‑driven multitasker; self‑manages priorities in a fast‑paced, guest‑focused environment.
  • Tech‑savvy: Apple computers, Word, Excel, Outlook, POS, and Cloudbeds.
  • Read, write, and speak English fluently; second language a plus.
  • Reliable, punctual, and team‑first mindset.
  • Reliable transportation

In accordance with pay transparency laws the pay rate for this role if hired is $18 per hour.
