This dual customer/product focused position serves as the technical liaison between Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and represents our customers during new product development programs. Applying Atmus’ products to customer vehicles applications the development of technical specifications, implementing new design configurations, and delivering high performance, low-cost equipment and system solutions integrated with customers’ products in a variety of applications. Integrating high quality and optimized customer solutions requires the interaction sales and marketing teams.
This senior level position is part of the Tier 2&3 customer engineering team focused on providing support to our largest set of OEMs. Due to the diversity of customers this position has exposure to most Atmus product lines and applications. The required work location is Quimper, France and will require support of projects, lab testing, and product lines based in Europe region and globally. Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of the Quimper facility, laboratory capabilities, and manufacturing processes, as well as an established professional network. ResponsibilitiesCustomer Interface and Relationship Management
- Act as the single point of contact in Quimper for our global Tier 2/3 Customer Engineering team
- Build strong working relationships with customer technical counterparts to serve as their primary liaison to deliver product technical information, manage product specifications, communicate product change information, conduct installation issue resolutions, and facilitate customer requests.
- Translates customer needs and “voice of the customer” into functional product requirements. Serves as customer/market advocate inside Atmus during participation in new product development programs, design reviews, and product change request processes.
Technical Expertise and Application Support
- Apply in-depth product, application, and market knowledge to support OEM product selection and equipment design.
- Ensure products are applied and installed correctly to meet customer system requirements and environments.
Quality Assurance and Validation
- Assure product quality through product validation including analysis, laboratory tests, and field testing.
- Own problem resolution for moderately complex components, products, systems, subsystems or services with a greater degree of technical complexity and ambiguity over the entry level engineer level and with greater accountability to the project team.
Project Leadership
- Provide independent execution of established work processes and systems, while still developing technology or product knowledge; engages with the improvement of systems and processes.
- Lead moderately complex Automotive Product Change (APC) projects as project leader and/or technical project leader; demonstrate capability to lead more complex APC and APD projects over time.
Tools and Processes
- Utilize and support conventional product design tools and processes: CAD, PLM, DVA, DFMEA, CofC, DVP&R, ALD, GD&T, FEA, CFD, etc.
- Contribute to the development and optimization of design methodologies and best practices.
Team Collaboration
- Involves minimal direct management of people but could involve the coordination and direction of work amongst technicians and/or temporary student employees.
- Contributes effectively to team goals, exhibits influence within a work group and continues to develop proficiency in the competency areas critical to success in the role.
College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or appropriate STEM field is required. Post-graduate (Master's) degree relevant to this discipline area may be required for select roles. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
