Reporting to the Methods & Special Tooling Leader, the tooling design engineer is involved in the design of installation tools, machining, dismantling, handling and lifting tools. Participate in the design of specialized tools related to recent major projects or being submitted.Job Description
Rôles et responsabilités
Analyser l’information technique (spécifications techniques, portée des travaux, division du travail);
Être responsable de la conception de l’outillage spécial de chantier pour l’assemblage sur site, conformément à la planification et au budget du chantier, tout en tenant compte des aspects EHS;
Planifier la phase de conception de l’outillage, en assurer le suivi et la coordination avec l’équipe de projet;
Participer aux revues de conception de divers projets et s’assurer que la conception est cohérente avec les méthodes d’installation sur site;
Optimiser la conception de l’outillage ou de la machine afin d’améliorer et de réduire le temps d’installation sur site;
Préparer l’information technique et superviser l’exécution des dessins techniques;
Rédiger des rapports et des documents d’ingénierie, y compris les procédures d’essai, les notes d’ingénierie et les manuels d’entretien;
Fournir un soutien technique à la chaîne d’approvisionnement et participer au soutien technique des équipes de chantier;
Valider les coûts des procédures et de l’outillage durant la phase de soumission avec les autres membres de l’équipe Construction et mise en service;
Être responsable des livrables et des budgets de ses projets.
Qualifications requises
Baccalauréat en génie mécanique;
Minimum de 5 à 10 ans d’expérience pertinente;
Une formation ou un profil en génie civil ou en génie des structures sera également considéré;
Maîtrise du français et de l’anglais, à l’oral comme à l’écrit;
Doit être autorisé à travailler au Canada sans restriction;
Capacité à voyager à l’occasion en Amérique du Nord.
Atouts recherchés
Connaissance des normes de sécurité relatives aux équipements de manutention et de levage (OSHA) B30.20, appareils sous crochet;
Connaissance du soudage et de l’usinage;
Esprit d’équipe;
Capacité à s’exprimer clairement et à communiquer efficacement;
Une expérience dans le domaine de l’hydroélectricité constitue un atout important;
Connaissance et expérience en conception mécanique et dans le domaine de l’hydroélectricité;

Plan the tooling design phase, follow-up and coordination with the project team;
Participate in design reviews of various projects and ensure design is consistent with site installation methods;
Optimization of the tooling design or the machine to improve and reduce site installation time;
Prepare information and supervise the execution of technical drawings;
Write reports and engineering documents, including test procedures, engineering notes, maintenance manuals;
Provide technical support to the supply chain and participate in the technical support of the site teams;
Validate the costing of procedures & tooling during the tendering phase with other members of the Construction & Commissioning team;
Responsible of the deliverables and budgets for their projects.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
Minimum of 5 -10 years of relevant experience.
Civil or Structural Engineer considered.
Fluent in French and English (oral and written).
Must be authorized to work in Canada without restriction
Ability to travel from time to time in North America.

Knowledge of Safety Standards for Material Handling and Lifting Equipment (OSHA) B30.20 Below the hook.
Knowledge of welding and machining.

Experience in hydroelectricity field highly.
