Your role & work environment
ING Corporate Investments provides a full range of tailor-made equity and subordinated debt solutions to help companies with their growth and reach their strategic objectives. We have invested over €1 billion, mostly in the Netherlands and in Belgium.
As a Senior Investment Manager within the Corporate Investments team Belgium (5 FTEs), you will be involved in the origination and the execution of equity and subordinated debt solutions.
Your key responsibilities
Together with experienced Investment Directors, you will:
Collaborate on the origination of opportunities.
- Identify and approach SME’s (and Corporates), with the support of the ING network
- Assess opportunities o.a. by conducting in-depth financial and market analysis
- Create financial models
- Structure equity, equity-linked instruments and subordinated debt products.
Prepare and execute equity and mezzanine transactions
- Coordinate and perform due diligence
- Prepare investment memos and presentations for internal committees
- Be responsible for bringing negotiation to a good end
- Execute transactions with internal and external stakeholders
Create value in the portfolio
- Monitor and analyse the financial performance of portfolio companies
- Assist Investment Directors, who have board seats within portfolio companies, and in the future becoming a member of the board of a SME yourself

As a Senior Investment Manager within the Corporate Investments team you:
- Hold a Master degree (applied) economics, business engineer or civil engineer with an additional degree (MBA/Finance or other relevant education)
- Have experience with debt structuring including a proven track record in complex lending transactions and in general dealing with clients
- Strong knowledge of complex financial analysis and modelling
- Strong credit skills and judgment
- Good negotiation and client-facing experience
- Well-organised approach and ability to work on several deals/tasks simultaneously
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience
- Be fluently Dutch speaking. Excellent level in English and good in French.
- Have an excellent command of Excel, Powerpoint and Word
