This position is Remote to work with a US Company; you will require to have Citizenship or a work permit from Costa Rica to apply for this role.

Role summary
You will act as a senior infrastructure generalist with a strong focus on VMware virtualization, supporting day-to-day data center operations in a lean, enterprise environment. This role requires hands-on ownership of VMware platforms while collaborating closely with storage and network teams to ensure stability, performance, and scalability following workforce reductions.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts and vCenter.

• Manage clusters, HA/DRS configurations, upgrades, and patching activities.

• Perform capacity planning, performance monitoring, and resource optimization.

• Support daily data center operations and respond to infrastructure incidents.

• Collaborate with storage and network teams to resolve cross-platform issues.

• Troubleshoot virtualization, compute, and infrastructure-related problems.

• Participate in infrastructure maintenance, upgrades, and lifecycle management.

• Maintain documentation for configurations, procedures, and operational standards.

• Act as a senior-level escalation point for virtualization and infrastructure issues.

Requirements – Must-haves

• Strong hands-on experience administering VMware vSphere environments.

• Proven experience managing clusters, availability, and performance in enterprise setups.

• Working knowledge of storage and networking concepts in data center environments.

• Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure operations.

• Ability to operate independently and effectively within a lean team structure.

• Strong troubleshooting, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.

• Clear communication and documentation abilities.

Nice-to-haves (optional)

• Experience with storage platforms or backup solutions.

• Familiarity with Cisco UCS or data center networking technologies.

• Relevant VMware certifications (VCP or higher).

• Experience supporting environments after organizational or workforce changes.
