Our international team of experts is responsible for the provision and further development of the global IT platform of the DWS Alternative Real Estate To this end, the internal team works together with DWS colleagues from other areas as well as with external service providers and partners. The tasks include the complete software development lifecycle for the central business-specific applications. The spectrum ranges from SaaS applications to vendor managed applications to in-house developed and supported applications. Your key responsibilities

  • Manage and own the technical/infrastructural issues of the internally hosted vendor platforms
  • Work with the Domain Architect to support new mid-term Strategic Programs, which include the replacement of key existing platforms
  • provide technical input and advise for: RFI/RFP processes, data integrations and migrations, new implementations and decommissioning
  • provide technical design and architectural guidance to all technology resources within the Alternatives Platform, for example, to promote/specify information security, network and infrastructure issues
  • create and update an infrastructure documentation and diagrams
  • help create business cases that describe the cost impact and value drivers of the proposed solutions
  • assist in the preparation of feasibility studies, estimates and infrastructure capacity forecasts
  • work in a globally organized team

Your skills and experience

You will have in-depth knowledge and project experience in the key areas of IT infrastructure management:

  • Proven experience in leading IT infrastructure projects within large-scale or global organizations
  • Strong background in infrastructure management, including servers, storage, networks, virtualization, and cloud technologies
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure migration, transformation and decommissioning of legacy systems
  • Deep understanding of hybrid IT environments (on-premise and cloud/SaaS)
  • Familiarity with IT governance, compliance, and security standards (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR)
  • Experience in project and change management during IT transformation programs
  • Strong stakeholder and vendor management capabilities across global teams
  • Knowledge of service management frameworks such as ITIL
  • Experience in budget planning, cost control, and financial tracking for IT projects
  • Ability to align technical initiatives with business strategy and organizational goals

You will also be able to demonstrate experience and skills in the following technical fields:

  • Expertise in Windows and Linux server administration, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform preferred; AWS/Azure acceptable) – including architecture design, migration and operations
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (routing, firewalls, VPN, load balancing, DNS)
  • Experience with security frameworks and tools – Identity & Access Management, endpoint protection, and Zero Trust principles
  • Working knowledge of database technologies (MS SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
  • Experience with storage, backup and disaster recovery solutions
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Splunk, Prometheus, Azure Monitor, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Python)
  • Knowledge of SaaS integration and identity management solutions (Google Cloud Identity, Okta, SSO)
  • Basic understanding of DevOps pipelines and CI/CD practices for cross-functional collaboration
