About the role
This role is for an IT infrastructure professional who combines engineering credibility with the ability to influence governance, delivery confidence, and portfolio-level decision-making. Sitting within the TEO PMO, you will shape infrastructure demand before it becomes a committed project, ensuring proposals are grounded in the existing estate, technical constraints, service model, delivery capacity, and risk profile.
The role is deliberately practical. It is not about creating theoretical solution designs in isolation or owning end-to-end technical governance for every initiative. It is about testing feasibility, challenging assumptions, exposing risks early, connecting the right architecture, engineering, security, operations, delivery teams, and demonstrating ownership where ambiguity needs to be resolved.
What You Will Do
• Lead technical due diligence during intake: clarify the ask, current-state impact, constraints, assumptions, dependencies, and recommended next steps.
• Validate feasibility across infrastructure domains including network, compute, storage, virtualisation, cloud, IAM, security, resilience, monitoring, service management, and operations.
• Challenge early sizing, cost drivers, resource impacts, and delivery sequencing with the relevant engineering and operations teams.
• Turn conceptual or aspirational ideas into realistic options that are buildable, secure, resilient, supportable, and aligned to standards.
• Provide focused technical input to PMO governance gates, intake forums, prioritisation reviews, and delivery readiness checkpoints.
• Drive clarity where ownership is unclear, assumptions are unproven, or service acceptance risks could be passed downstream.
What You Will Bring
• Strong IT infrastructure engineering background, ideally across complex enterprise, hybrid, cloud, and legacy environments.
• Credibility across multiple infrastructure domains, with the ability to understand how platforms, services, applications, controls, and operations connect.
• Practical judgement: able to distinguish what is desirable, what is feasible now, and what needs further discovery before commitment.
• Experience working with architecture, engineering, security, service transition, operations, PMO, and delivery teams to shape or assure outcomes.
• Constructive challenge and stakeholder influence: able to drive better decisions without creating unnecessary governance overhead.
