As we continue to scale, we are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Leader to take our SRE, Security, and Data Platform functions to the next level. This role is responsible for ensuring Kontakt.io’s platform operates with 99.99% uptime, is secure by design, and delivers high availability for data and services.

As Infrastructure Leader, you will own the strategy, execution, and performance of our SRE, Security, and Data Platform teams. You will work closely with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to ensure that our infrastructure is resilient, scalable, and secure, with a strong focus on Electronic Health Records (EHR) data integrity and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define infrastructure roadmaps, budgets, and technology strategies.
• Work cross-functionally with engineering and product teams to embed security, reliability, and scalability from the ground up.
• Foster a culture of automation, operational excellence, and proactive problem-solving.
• Define data retention, backup, and disaster recovery policies in compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Support secure data sharing with EHR systems, hospitals, and healthcare providers, ensuring interoperability and compliance.
• Work with AI/ML and analytics teams to ensure seamless access to critical healthcare and IoT-generated data.
• Implement security frameworks to protect EHR and sensitive healthcare data from breaches or unauthorized access.
• Champion DevSecOps, security automation, and proactive security measures to meet regulatory and industry standards.
• Define SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs while continuously improving observability and incident response.
• Maintain 99.99% uptime across all Kontakt.io services.
• Drive disaster recovery, high availability, and auto-scaling strategies.
• Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost efficiency, and resilience.

What You Bring:

• 15+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud engineering, or site reliability engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing multiple teams.
• Deep expertise in cloud computing (AWS), Kubernetes, and distributed systems at scale.
• A track record of designing and implementing high-availability (99.99% uptime) architectures for enterprise-grade SaaS, IoT, or healthcare platforms.
• Strong understanding of network security, compliance frameworks (HIPAA, SOC 2), and data security best practices.
• Extensive experience with EHR data management and secure healthcare data handling.
• A mature leadership approach—able to navigate complex technical and business challenges, influence executive teams, and drive strategic decisions.
• Hands-on experience leading cross-functional teams, developing high-impact roadmaps, and building high-performance engineering cultures.
• Deep familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, etc.), and advanced observability tools.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills, resilience under pressure, and the ability to make high-stakes decisions in real-time.
• Bonus points if you have:
• Experience working with EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, AthenaHealth, etc.) in high-scale environments.
• A track record of handling massive cloud migrations, multi-region deployments, and disaster recovery strategies.
