We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Infrastructure Platform Engineer to join our enterprise technology team. This role is responsible for operational support of complex infrastructure platforms and services, and requires proficiency across application, compute, network, and cloud-relevant technologies.You will play a critical role - supporting reliable, scalable, and secure technology solutions, while partnering with architecture, engineering, and business teams to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and operational excellence.
Job Description
What you’ll do:
Essential Job Functions & Tasks:
Platform Operations & Lifecycle Management
- Act as a principal operational resource for complex enterprise platform services across on-premises, public cloud, and hybrid environments.
- Operate and support web and application server platforms, including Microsoft IIS, Apache Tomcat, Oracle WebLogic, and IBM WebSphere.
- Administer and support JVM-based platforms, enterprise messaging technologies such as IBM MQ, server load balancing with F5, and container platforms such as Amazon EKS, Red Hat OpenShift, and ROSA.
- Execute platform upgrades, patching, vulnerability remediation, lifecycle activities, and other operational changes in accordance with enterprise processes.
- Participate in on-call support and after-hours maintenance activities as required.
Reliability, Performance & Problem Management
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, performance analysis, tuning, and root cause analysis across complex platform services.
- Identify recurring operational issues and drive preventive actions that improve availability, resilience, performance, and supportability.
- Adhere to and advocate for change, incident, and problem management practices, including clear ownership, documentation, and follow-through.
- Partner with engineering teams to improve operational readiness before new or changed services enter production.
Security, Controls & Compliance
- Support enterprise patching and vulnerability management programs across assigned platforms.
- Maintain technical and operational documentation that supports regulatory audits, evidence requests, control attestations, and compliance reporting, including NERC CIP where applicable.
- Administer SSL/TLS certificates and related PKI and machine identity processes in alignment with enterprise security standards.
- Contribute to governance and support models for platform services across private, public, and hybrid cloud environments.
Automation, Monitoring & Observability
- Develop and improve automation and scripting that reduce manual effort, improve consistency, and strengthen operational outcomes.
- Improve monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and observability using enterprise tools such as Dynatrace and Splunk.
- Create and maintain standards, procedures, runbooks, support documentation, and architectural diagrams for assigned services.
- Use operational data and service trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Collaboration & Technical Leadership
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, cybersecurity partners, business stakeholders, project teams, and vendors to deliver reliable solutions aligned with enterprise standards and best practices.
- Lead complex technical initiatives, influence cross-functional outcomes, and drive accountability for assigned work.
- Provide technical work direction, knowledge sharing, training, and mentoring to other engineers.
- Communicate technical risks, recommendations, and decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
What we’re looking for:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required.
Experience:
- 7 years of relevant work experience is required.
- An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
Required Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting enterprise web and application server platforms, with strong experience in one or more of the following: Microsoft IIS, Apache Tomcat, Oracle WebLogic, or IBM WebSphere.
- Hands-on expertise in JVM administration, monitoring, performance tuning, and root cause troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting enterprise messaging or queuing technologies such as IBM MQ or an equivalent platform.
- Working knowledge of PKI, SSL/TLS administration, certificate lifecycle management, and machine identity concepts.
- Experience with container platforms such as Amazon EKS, Red Hat OpenShift, or ROSA.
- Experience administering enterprise load-balancing or traffic-management technologies such as F5.
- Familiarity with infrastructure automation and scripting strategies.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently on complex assignments.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical recommendations to management and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating infrastructure and platform services in hybrid cloud environments.
- Experience with enterprise-scale monitoring, observability, and operational support models.
- Proficiency with observability tools such as Dynatrace and Splunk.
- Experience developing automation or scripts that improve platform operations, compliance, or service reliability.
- Experience supporting regulated environments and related audit or evidence requirements.
- Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring other engineers.

- Maintain current technical and operational knowledge of assigned enterprise platforms and services.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and after-hours maintenance or incident support as required.
