As a Infrastructure Engineer III,at JPMorgan Chase within the Network Rapid Response SME (Subject Matter Expert) Team, your endless curiosity about technology will help you propel innovation and your career. Working in a team of highly motivated people like you, you'll work with customers and be accountable for production incidents, problems, change management, internal and external communications, lifecycle management and product evolution. You'll help develop functional goals and priorities that align with our overall strategy. You'll collaborate with our talented and dedicated problem-solving technologists across the JPMorgan Chase & Co. global network. Your expertise in various network technologies and standards will be counted on to troubleshoot, identify, and solve complex and mission critical problems internally and externally. The ideal candidate must have knowledge of, or be willing to learn, scripting languages (e.g. Python) required for the development of automations that will contribute to the improvement of our network support structure.
Job responsibilities
- Applies strong technical acumen and problem-solving methodologies to network operations of reasonable scope, with a focus on improving network operations, data and systems running at scale, and ensures end to end monitoring of network infrastructure and applications
- Applies technical expertise, problem-solving methodologies, drives a workstream or project consisting of one or more infrastructure engineering technologies
- Works with other platforms to architect and implement changes required to resolve issues and modernize the organization and its technology processes
- Executes creative solutions for the design, development, and technical troubleshooting for problems of moderate complexity
- Strongly considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications and advises on mitigation actions
- Resolves most nuances, determines appropriate escalation path, executes conventional approaches to build or break down technical problems
- Partners with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediation statuses
- Be accountable for making significant decisions for a project consisting of multiple technologies and applications
- Be primary point of contact to support incident, problem, change management, risk, vendor and client relationship, internal and external communications, service delivery, lifecycle management and service evolution
- Acts independently and leverages critical thinking. Advocates for customer base when faced with Infrastructure or Business Critical issues
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science related disciplines
- Minimally 10 years of Infrastructure and networking related experience
- Deep knowledge of one or more areas of infrastructure engineering such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, or performance assessments
- Deep knowledge of site reliability engineering or related experience with focus on Networking on Data Center, Enterprise, Perimeter, Routing & Switching, Security and Application layer networking. Certification of CCIE or CCNP.
- Deep knowledge of one specific infrastructure technology and scripting languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, Ansible etc.)
- Drives to continue to develop technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of the product
- Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure and multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds.
- Ability to apply proficiency, articulate and share clear, concise complex technical findings to management in understandable terms.
- Drives to develop infrastructure engineering knowledge of additional domains, data fluency, and automation knowledge.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Certification in automation is an advantage
