Role Overview
The Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer is responsible for managing and supporting Azure cloud infrastructure while providing strong operational support for on-premises Windows infrastructure. The role plays a key part in maintaining hybrid IT environments, ensuring system availability, security compliance, and operational excellence.
This position requires hands-on technical skills, proactive incident ownership, and close collaboration with security, network, and global IT teams.
Core Responsibilities
- Azure Infrastructure & Cloud Management (Primary)
- Administer Azure IaaS components including virtual machines, storage accounts, networking, and security configurations.
- Support Azure resource provisioning, monitoring, availability, and performance.
- Manage hybrid connectivity between on-prem infrastructure and Azure.
- Assist with Azure governance, access controls, and cost awareness.
- Support Azure identity integration (Azure AD / Entra ID with on-prem AD).
- Troubleshoot Azure-related incidents and coordinate with global cloud teams.
- On-Prem Infrastructure Support
Server & Active Directory Administration
- Administer Windows servers including patching, monitoring, services, and performance.
- Manage Active Directory users, groups, OUs, GPOs, and service accounts.
- Troubleshoot authentication, access, and domain-related issues.
- Conduct periodic access reviews and implement AD security best practices.
Endpoint & File Server Management
- Manage file servers, NTFS permissions, access control, and storage quotas.
- Support endpoint management tools (SCCM / client automation) for deployments and patching.
- Provide L2/L3 escalation support for infrastructure-related user issues.
Networking & Connectivity
- Troubleshoot LAN/WAN, VPN, Wi-Fi, and general connectivity issues.
- Coordinate with network teams on firewall, ISP, and routing-related incidents.
- Maintain infrastructure and network documentation.
- Security, Patch & Vulnerability Management
- Operate vulnerability scans using Qualys or similar tools across cloud and on-prem assets.
- Coordinate patch deployment, remediation, and configuration hardening.
- Track patch compliance and vulnerability remediation status.
- Support security posture reviews and audit readiness.
Documentation & Audits
- Maintain SOPs, system documentation, and architecture diagrams.
- Support internal and external audits with logs, reports, and evidence.
- Ensure compliance with corporate IT and security policies.
Required Experience & Skills
- 5–6 years of enterprise IT experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure infrastructure and cloud operations.
- Solid knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPOs.
- Experience with Qualys, SCCM, backup solutions, and PowerShell scripting.
- Good understanding of networking, security controls, and hybrid environments.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Azure (AZ-series), Microsoft, or security certifications preferred.
