Deutsche Bank are building out new capabilities in BMaaS (Bare Metal as-a-service) and VMaaS (Virtual Machines as-a-service) and are looking for engineers join the team to develop the architecture and oversee the build out.

As part of a strategic transformation, Deutsche Bank through Group Technology Infrastructure are modernizing their infrastructure capabilities and building out a private cloud.  The private cloud will be based on similar public cloud technologies offering application teams a common control plane experience whereby they can instantiate, configure and deploy all infrastructure components and capabilities as code. This is an exciting journey over the next number of years.

Your key responsibilities

• Engineer 3rd part and/ or in-house products required to implement both Bare Metal as a Service and Virtual Machine as a Service

• Work collaboratively with internal colleagues across architecture, product management, transformation and DevOps / Operations to deliver these capabilities

• Work in partnership with the vendors’ engineers to develop a customer-focused infrastructure platform that can be consumed programmatically.

• Engineer core integration with the common control plane technologies such as Hashicorp TFE or Ansible

• Provide DevOps automation and playbooks (documentation) to ensure product is consumable with no manual intervention.

Your skills and experience

• Understanding of Bare Metal and IT Infrastructure in general.

• Understanding of SDNs, Overlay networks.

• String developer/ engineering skills – Python, YAML/HCL, Git/Github.

• Experience with the Terraform platform including 3rd party TFE Providers

• Metalsoft and/or Morpheus also an advantage.

• Experience with compute capabilities on Hyperscalers, ideally Google Cloud Platform and understanding of Hypervisor offerings, ideally including the VMware platform.
