The Impact You’ll Make
As an Infrastructure Administrator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of Recursion’s IT infrastructure. This mid-level operational role is 60% systems administration and 40% network administration, with responsibilities spanning enterprise systems, identity management, and network operations. You will manage both Mac and Windows environments, troubleshoot issues, and optimize IT services to support business-critical operations.
What You’ll DoSystems Administration Duties
- Manage and maintain Mac and Windows-based enterprise environments, ensuring seamless performance and security.
- Administer endpoint management solutions such as Jamf (Mac) and Intune (Windows) for device provisioning, policy enforcement, and security compliance.
- Oversee Okta identity and access management, handling user authentication, SSO configurations, and MFA enforcement.
- Administer enterprise applications and collaboration tools, including Google Workspace and other SaaS platforms.
- Implement and monitor backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure business continuity.
- Automate routine administrative tasks using Ansible, PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware, software, and OS-level issues for end-user and enterprise systems.
Network Administration Duties
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and VPN solutions.
- Support and enhance network security, monitoring and mitigating vulnerabilities.
- Assist with wireless network performance tuning, optimizing reliability and speed.
- Provide support for remote connectivity solutions, including Netskope and other VPN technologies.
- Participate in network infrastructure upgrades and migrations, ensuring minimal disruption.
Who You Are
- A highly skilled IT professional with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in systems and network administration in an enterprise environment.
- Proficient in managing Mac and Windows endpoints and enterprise endpoint management tools like Jamf and Intune.
- Strong understanding of Okta identity management, including SSO, MFA, and user lifecycle management.
- Comfortable with troubleshooting enterprise networks, including VLANs, firewalls, and wireless networking.
- Knowledgeable about IT security best practices, including patch management, compliance, and endpoint security.
- Able to analyze and resolve complex IT issues efficiently and effectively.
- Strong communicator who can collaborate across teams and provide excellent end-user support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with configuration management and automation tools for IT operations.
- Hands-on experience with firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto, etc.) and VPN solutions.
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, MCSA, Jamf, or Network+ are a plus.
