Infra/Sec Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Infra/Sec Specialist to support security and infrastructure operations across our cloud and on-premise environments. This position is ideal for an early-career IT professional with 3+ years of experience who is looking to gain hands-on experience in cloud security, identity management, and infrastructure administration while learning from experienced team members. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in cloud security practices, identity management, networking, and endpoint security and is eager to develop expertise in enterprise security administration.
This is a remote position with occasional visits to our New York office as needed.
Salary range: $80,000 - $100,000

What you will do:
Infrastructure & Cloud Administration:

• Support daily operations of AWS Cloud, Azure, Active Directory, and Entra ID.
• Implement and manage cloud security measures, identity access policies, and authentication frameworks such as Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and Single Sign-On (SSO).
• Evaluate and advise on disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Provide support to patch and maintain Windows servers.
• Maintain compliance with network policies, authorization roles, and access controls.
• Perform related duties as required to support network infrastructure.

Cybersecurity & Risk Management:

• Monitor security and respond to alerts from infrastructure and tools.
• Assist with Zscaler firewall ruleset reviews, URL filtering, and application control policies.
• Participate in vulnerability scanning and assist in remediation tracking.
• Conduct endpoint security checks and ensure compliance across all systems.
• Support access control reviews and user provisioning across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Assist with user access requests, security incidents, and troubleshooting.
• Perform related duties as required to support and improve security posture.

Project & Documentation Support:

• Document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for infrastructure and security processes.
• Assist with asset inventory tracking, including cloud and physical resources.
• Provide input into security and compliance policies to align with NYDFS regulations.
• Support audits by gathering compliance documentation and assisting in risk assessments.

What you will bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline (preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in IT security, cloud administration, or infrastructure support (required).
• Relevant certifications a plus (CompTIA Security+, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals).
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, and virtualization technologies.
• Experience working with on-prem Active Directory and Entra ID.
• Familiarity with security tools such as Zscaler (ZIA/ZPA), Sophos, Rapid7, Cloudflare, and Intune.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP).
• Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) are a plus.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including identity management, risk assessments, and compliance frameworks (NYDFS, NIST, CIS).
• Keen attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Strong patience, problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to understand new concepts, tools, and technologies quickly and apply knowledge in real-world situations.
• Proficiency in documenting and articulating technical processes accurately.
• Team player mentality with strong collaboration skills.
