Job Description

  • Monitors and maintains the local and wide area network infrastructure equipment, including but not limited to hubs, modems, switches, network appliances, and routers
  • Utilizes network management tools to monitor and maintain network health and performance
  • Monitors and maintains network circuitry technologies and connections, including but not limited to frame relay, broadband, and satellite
  • Monitors and maintains enterprise wiring infrastructure including but not limited to fiber, UTP, wireless and network racks
  • Monitors and maintains virtual private network infrastructure
  • Isolates and resolves network-related service calls and problems
  • Maintains Networking Services documentation
  • Serves as the primary liaison between information technology service providers for interface and customization needs
  • Researches new products and potential solutions
  • Manages internal Network Services projects
  • Proactive in identifying problems and takes necessary steps or implements procedures to resolve problems before they become larger and more critical
  • Provides technical assistance regarding all network devices, circuitry and core infrastructure throughout the project including troubleshooting, configuring, installing, documenting, and sustaining the projects network infrastructure
  • Conducts appropriate risk analysis before making decisions related to technology and infrastructure

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology or related field is required
  • A minimum of three years of experience in Information Technology pertaining to networking technologies is required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; strong management and organizational skills; ability to work across all levels of management and staff
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision
