THE TEAM 

The mission of the AI Enablement Department is to empower domain teams to deliver AI solutions that unlock business value through strategic guidance and AI infrastructure. 

 

THE OPPORTUNITY 

Aritzia is growing, and the AI Enablement team in our Technology division is growing with it. This is a unique opportunity to architect and oversee the foundational infrastructure that powers Aritzia’s AI evolution. As the Principal AI Platform Engineer, you will use your technical expertise and strategic vision to establish the overarching philosophy, principles, and technical guardrails that shape how we design, deploy, and scale AI. You will own our AI platform roadmap — curating a network of world-class partners and building robust development platforms, multi-modal AI pipelines, intelligent autonomous agents, and self-service tools that empower our enterprise to work smarter and faster. With a secure-by-design mindset, you will establish the critical infrastructure and monitoring frameworks required to ensure our AI usage is responsible, ethical, resilient, and continuously aligned with our unique brand voice. THE ROLE 

As the Principal AI Platform Engineer, you will: 

  • Design and own the strategic roadmap for the enterprise AI platform, establishing the core technical architecture that powers Aritzia’s AI capabilities. 
  • Lead the engineering of critical platforms, including robust development platforms, that empower the organization. 
  • Build and manage a network of world-class technology vendors and partners, ensuring the AI platform ecosystem is innovative, scalable, and aligned with strategic business goals. 
  • Perform feasibility studies on emerging AI trends and collaborate with internal/external tech experts to accelerate advanced, practical adoption. 

THE QUALIFICATIONS 

The Principal AI Platform Engineer has proven skills, education, and/or applicable certifications:  

  • Enterprise AI Infrastructure & LLMOps / MLOps Architecture: Deep architectural expertise in enterprise cloud AI ecosystems (e.g., Azure AI Studio, AWS Bedrock, Google Cloud Vertex AI) to build and provision scalable developer environments and agentic orchestration frameworks 
  • Experience with AI guardrails engineering, model observability, and drift detection, and establishing autonomy limits and action authorization controls for agentic systems 
  • Experience with cognitive search, RAG, multi-modal visual embeddings, and enterprise data architecture   
  • Experience with vector databases and data orchestration 
  • Experience with application integration and embedded AI architecture 
  • Experience with technical vendor evaluation and AI strategy
