About the Team/Role
We are seeking experienced Control-M Migration Specialists to join our team on a contract basis. You will play a pivotal role in the successful migration of our enterprise job scheduling system. This project requires a deep understanding of Control-M, strong Linux skills, and the ability to analyze and adapt existing Perl and Bash scripts.
How you'll make an impact
Migrate existing Fortra Skybot/Automate job schedules to Control-M, ensuring accurate translation of dependencies and workflows.
Develop and implement complex job scheduling workflows using Control-M.
Analyze and interpret existing Bash and Perl script programs to facilitate migration and integration.
Create Bash scripts and make changes to existing Perl scripts where necessary to facilitate conversion to meet updated standards with Control-M integration
Create comprehensive technical documentation, including job flow diagrams and runbooks.
Perform thorough testing and validation of migrated job schedules.
Optimize job scheduling performance and troubleshoot issues.
Utilize version control systems such as GitHub.
Utilize Control-M APIs and CLI for automation.
Utilize Jira for task management, tracking progress, and providing regular status updates.
Accurately report time spent on tasks within Jira.
Experience you'll bring
Extensive experience with Control-M (versions [Specify versions, if applicable]).
Expertise in Linux and the Linux command line.
Strong bash shell scripting skills.
Ability to read and understand Perl programs.
Experience with enterprise job scheduling concepts and best practices.
Experience with Control-M/Server, Control-M/Agent, and Control-M/Enterprise Manager (EM).
Knowledge of Control-M modules (e.g., File Transfer, MFT).
Experience with Control-M APIs and CLI.
Experience with job dependency management.
Experience with job scheduling security and compliance.
Experience with job scheduling testing and validation.
Experience with job scheduling performance analysis and optimization.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Familiarity with Fortra Automate.
Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience with monitoring tools (Splunk).
Experience with ITIL frameworks.
Experience with Agile or DevOps methodologies.
Ability to read and understand C programming.
