Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced and strategic cybersecurity leader to drive enterprise-level security initiatives, strengthen our risk-management posture, and guide the organization in adopting emerging technologies. This role requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity domains, financial-industry frameworks, and modern development and risk practices. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, an innovative problem solver, and someone who can lead high-performing teams while influencing at all levels of the organization.
In this position, you will play a key role in assessing risk, guiding security strategies, supporting the application development lifecycle, and advising senior leadership on complex technical and business challenges. You will help shape long-term security direction, align practices to industry frameworks, and drive delivery of large-scale enterprise initiatives. Familiarity with advanced and emerging technologies-including pre-deterministic and generative AI-is essential for informing future-focused decision-making.
In this role, you will:
- Manage and develop a team of individual contributors and managers in roles with moderate complexity and risk
- Maintain a broad awareness of the state of information security companywide
- Identify and recommend complex and innovative solutions addressing functions including vulnerability detection, threat data, network intrusion and development, and implementation of vulnerability mitigation strategies
- Identify security risks and solutions for networks and virtual private network applications, security tools, public key infrastructures, authentication and directory services, and access management services
- Identify, formulate, implement information security and Line of Business management
- Determine appropriate strategy for information security policy, standards and procedures for systems, applications and tools
- Set guidelines for compliance and risk management requirements for supported area and work with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
- Advise more experienced management on issues with high, critical impact
- Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers
- Lead team to achieve objectives
- Interface with Information Security Industry Leaders, Financial industry Leaders, Analysts and Regulators
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Information Security Analysis
- Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
- 6+ years of Information Security Analysis experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 3+ years of management or leadership experience
- Experience in Information Security Analysis, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Management or leadership experience
- Strong cybersecurity knowledge and hands-on experience
- Experience working in a large financial services organization
- Familiarity with key financial industry frameworks, including NIST, CRI, and OWASP
- Understanding of the application development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Proven experience in risk management, including assessment and mitigation
- Comprehensive understanding of the 10 Information Security Domains, including:
- Access Control
- Network Security
- Software Development Security
- Cryptography
- Security Architecture & Design
- Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC)
- And other core security areas
- Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams and drive results
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable direction
- Strong ability to see the big picture and connect complex technical and business concepts
- Successful track record delivering enterprise-level initiatives
- Excellent communication skills, including:
- Presenting complex technical concepts to senior leadership
- Creating high-quality executive updates
- Leading cross-functional working teams
- Creative problem solver with strong analytical and decision-making abilities
- Familiarity with emerging technologies, including pre-deterministic and generative AI
- Knowledge of Governance, Risk and Controls tools, such as IBM OpenPages, is preferred
- Experience with application development is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in one of the listed locations in a hybrid environment. There is no option for fully remote work
