Since 2017, IRC has supported Rohingya Refugees and Bangladeshi nationalities communities in Cox's Bazar, Khulna, Barisal, and Chittagong with integrated services. The organization also addresses climate change impacts by building resilience and promoting economic recovery, education, and protection.
Purpose of the Role
Signpost, known in Bangladesh as InfoSheba, is a two-way communication initiative that provides refugees, and crisis-affected communities with accurate, accessible and actionable information. In Cox's Bazar, InfoSheba reaches Rohingya refugees and host community audiences through digital channels, a public website and community-based Information Corners in Ukhiya and Teknaf.
As audiences increasingly consume information visually and through mobile devices, video has become the primary format through which InfoSheba explains services, entitlements and protection risks. The purpose of this role is to plan, produce and edit high-quality video and multimedia content that makes complex service and protection information easy to understand, trustworthy and useful for people with limited literacy and limited access to formal information sources.
Job Overview
The Information Officer sits within the IRC’s InfoSheba editorial team and is responsible for the full video production cycle, from content research and scripting through filming, editing, motion graphics and final publication across InfoSheba channels. Editing is the core technical function of the post, and the post holder is expected to independently turn raw footage and information inputs into finished, publication-ready videos.
The role is based in the Ukhiya Office under the direct supervision of the Editorial Manager, and works closely with the wider editorial team, Information Corner facilitators, consortium partners and IRC programme sectors. Alongside content production, the post holder maintains a secondary frontline responsibility for responding to user questions received through InfoSheba channels, which keeps content grounded in the real information needs of the community.

Contract Length: 31st March 2027 (With possibilities of extension)

This is the principal day-to-day function of the role.
- Motion graphics and animation: Produce motion graphics, animated explainers, titles, maps, infographics and simple two-dimensional animation to support visual comprehension where filmed footage alone is not sufficient.
- Multi-format adaptation: Version and adapt content for Facebook, the InfoSheba website, Information Corner screens and offline distribution, applying the correct aspect ratio, duration, captioning and sound-off viewing considerations for each platform.
- Production planning: Maintain the video content calendar and production pipeline with the Editorial Manager, tracking each product from ideation through scripting, filming, editing, review and publication, and flagging delays early.
- Editorial accuracy and approvals: Verify all content against IRC-approved articles, service mapping and sector guidance, and ensure every product is cleared through editorial review and, where required, protection and communications sign-off before publication.
- Asset and archive management: Maintain an organized archive of raw footage, project files, graphics templates, licensed music and consent records, applying consistent file naming, version control and backup practices.
- Performance review: Monitor video performance data such as reach, watch time and engagement alongside community feedback, and use the findings to improve formats, length, language and visual approach.
- Capacity building: Coach Information Corner facilitators and field staff on basic mobile filming, audio capture and content collection so that community-level material can feed into the production pipeline.
