Job Description
SUMMARY/SCOPE OF POSITION
Information Development includes the development, production, and delivery of information products in English, in support of Rockwell Automation software products. An Information Developer (A.K.A. Technical Writer) will be responsible for developing online Help systems, technical user manuals and guides, and any additional deliverables necessary to meet product specifications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation (e.g. help files, release notes, user manuals, etc.)
- Research and resolve issues in a SAFe development environment
- Respond with urgency to the requests for information and technical assistance
- Communicate successfully on a geographically distributed global team
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Approximately 3 years of relevant work experience
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills in English
- Demonstrated teamwork and quick learning capabilities
- Familiar with the Microsoft Manual of Styles writing guidelines
- Proficient in the content development tools, including Oxygen, Adobe Experience Manager, Acrobat Pro, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Basic understanding of Industrial Automation or software systems
- Working knowledge of computer technologies, such as HTML, XML, DITA, and a solid grasp of general IT concepts
- Candidates with experience in software programming, particularly in languages such as Python, are highly preferred.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Major & English proficiency:
- Majored in English-related fields (language and literature, translation, linguistics, etc.)
- Passed the Test for English Majors Band 8 (TEM-8) with a proficiency level of Good or above
