Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Information & Communications Technology Intern to be based in Hunt Valley, MD.

As an Information & Communications Technology (ICT) Intern, you will support AECOM’s Technology Solutions ICT Team by assisting with a variety of infrastructure-related tasks within the Technology Solutions Group. This internship provides hands-on experience in ICT strategy development, system design, and project management, enabling you to contribute to innovative solutions for buildings, cities, and organizations worldwide. ICT is defined as the copper and optical fiber cabling infrastructure.  This cabling infrastructure connects voice, data, audiovisual, security, control and wireless network systems within buildings, between buildings (campus) and over long distances (site to site). This is a part-time or full-time intern position. Hours are flexible to student availability. This is a position working primarily in Hunt Valley, MD office, and local client locations within the DMV area.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Contribute to project documentation, including system designs, technical specifications, and operational recommendations.
  • Assist in the development of ICT strategies for buildings, cities, and organizations.
  • Support the design and specification of ICT architectures tailored to meet client needs.
  • Collaborate with team members to provide vendor-independent advice and guidance for system design and product selection.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering or in another related field and must have completed at least 1 year of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the Master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship 
  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in ICT strategy development, system design, and IT operations optimization.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts effectively.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Prior working experience in a related field is a plus but not required.

Additional Information

  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
  • Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
  • Hourly rate: $18-22/Hour
