Description:
The Infection Prevention Coordinator is accountable for the implementation and compliance with policies, practices, and process of the Infection Prevention program, following all current local, state and federal guidelines, standards and regulations. The Infection Prevention Coordinator provides subject matter consultation and champions and fosters a culture of safety for patients, staff and visitors. Maintains infection prevention and control program according to established policies, evidence-based practice, and regulatory and professional organization guidelines. Performs routine educative, consultative, and investigative functions as it relates to infection prevention and control.

What the Infection Control Coordinator Will Need:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, or university in Nursing (RN), Infection prevention, epidemiology, public health, or other healthcare related discipline.
- Current license in the associated fields if applicable. Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred and required within 2 years of hire.Current American Heart Association BLS Certification obtained within one week of hire
- Three years relevant acute care experience. Experience in health care delivery with past interaction with medical staff and hospital administration.
What the What the Infection Control Coordinator Will Do:
- Collaborates to develop patient and employee outcomes reflecting collaboration within the hospital and the Community Health Care Services (CHCS).
- Identifies and prioritizes opportunities for infectious disease features of Infection Control intervention such as Infection Control in home care, outpatient care and physician offices.
- Demonstrates ability to critically analyze situations incorporating subtle clues within a broader context and identifies barriers to outcome achievement.
- Models personal and professional growth by continuing education and obtaining certification in an area of specialization.
- Actively participates in shared governance model for nursing and activities in support of Magnet designation.
