The Industry Relations Consultant (IRC) plays a critical role in building and nurturing strategic partnerships with industry stakeholders to support students' career development. This role ensures alignment among NTU CAO goals, employer hiring needs, and student placement outcomes, with a focus on internships, graduate employment, and long-term career readiness.

 Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary liaison and thought leader for assigned industry sectors, staying informed of market trends, skills demand, and evolving employer needs.

  • Develop and execute targeted strategies to engage top employers within the assigned sectors, ensuring they align with NTU CAO objectives and student aspirations.

  • Lead efforts to position NTU as a talent partner of choice within these sectors through thought leadership, advocacy, and collaboration.

  • Build, maintain, and deepen strategic partnerships with industry stakeholders to secure internship, graduate employment, and student project opportunities.

  • Conduct regular employer outreach to understand hiring needs, recruitment timelines, and evolving competencies the industries seek.

  • Develop initiatives to address employer gaps in talent pipelines and work with the event support team to plan and organise industry-specific Recruitment Talks/Events on or off-campus. 

  • Monitor and report on industry appetite for internships and jobs across assigned sectors, providing actionable insights to guide student preparation programs.

  • Track and achieve placement targets for internships and graduate roles, ensuring alignment with NTU CAO goals and sector potential.

  • Support career coaches in coaching students on navigating assigned sectors, addressing skills gaps, and preparing for sector-specific hiring processes.

  • Collaborate with peers in NTU CAO to share insights, co-develop initiatives, and enhance employer engagement across sectors.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in disciplines relevant to the specific domains/industries.

  • Minimum 7 years of work experience with a deep understanding of the assigned sectors, including market trends, talent needs, and sector dynamics. Experience working with startups and in the Fintech sector is a plus.

  • Ability to identify opportunities, anticipate challenges, and develop innovative approaches to employer engagement.

  • Proven track record of building and sustaining productive relationships with external and internal stakeholders.

  • Strong ability to analyse data to forecast hiring needs and measure sector engagement effectiveness.

  • Commitment to aligning employer needs with student aspirations and career success.

  • Possess strong initiative, self-motivated and achievement-oriented.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, detail-oriented, and able to think outside the box when solving problems.
