Mission / Purpose
The Manager, Industry Marketing develops and activates industry-specific marketing strategies that support Grant Thornton's service line-led growth priorities. This role translates industry insights, buyer needs, and business objectives into compelling content, integrated campaigns, and market-facing programs that strengthen relevance, drive engagement, and support growth.
Role Summary
The Manager, Industry Marketing role oversees a cluster of industries, partnering closely with the respective Heads of Industry, service line marketing leaders, and enablement teams to deliver industry-focused marketing initiatives. This role will report into the Associate Director, Industry Marketing.
This is a highly accountable role with significant responsibility for content creation and content strategy, as well as overseeing all parts of an integrated campaign. Managers are expected to develop industry thought leadership, shape campaign narratives, and drive execution from concept through activation.
Key Responsibilities
Industry Strategy & Stakeholder Partnership
- Serve as the primary marketing partner for assigned industries.
- Develop industry-specific marketing plans aligned to firm priorities.
- Monitor industry trends, market developments, buyer needs, and competitive activity.
- Advise stakeholders on marketing opportunities and priorities.
Industry Content Development & Production
- Own the content roadmap for assigned industries.
- Create and develop industry-focused content, including:
- Thought leadership
- Articles
- Points of view
- Email campaigns
- Landing pages
- Webcasts
- Event content
- Sales enablement materials
- Interview subject matter experts and transform complex ideas into compelling content.
- Drive content development from concept through final delivery.
- Ensure content is reusable across campaigns, channels, and service lines.
Integrated Campaign Activation
- Support service line-led campaigns by providing industry-specific insights, messaging, content, and activation plans.
- Develop industry-focused campaign components that strengthen integrated marketing efforts.
- Coordinate activation across digital, events, communications, field marketing, and sales enablement channels.
- Lead industry-specific initiatives and rapid-response programs as assigned.
Events, Sponsorships & Market Presence
- Evaluate industry events, sponsorships, and partnerships.
- Develop event messaging, content, speaker strategies, and activation plans.
- Partner with Field Marketing on execution while maintaining accountability for outcomes.
Planning & Execution
- Manage industry marketing plans from strategy through execution.
- Maintain visibility into priorities, timelines, deliverables, and outcomes.
- Manage competing priorities and make recommendations regarding resource allocation.
- Partner effectively across marketing and business teams to deliver results.
Measurement & Optimization
- Define success measures for industry initiatives.
- Monitor performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Analyze engagement, utilization, and business impact.
- Provide clear updates and recommendations based on performance data.
AI-Enabled Ways of Working
- Use AI-enabled tools for research, planning, content development, and workflow acceleration.
- Apply sound judgment and business context to AI-assisted outputs.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of team AI practices and standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience & Capabilities
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.
- Minimum of 6-9 years of B2B marketing experience.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling capabilities.
- Experience developing content and thought leadership.
- Experience activating integrated marketing campaigns.
- Strong stakeholder-management and project-leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated proficiency in AI-enabled marketing tools and practices.
The base salary range for this position is between $104,000 and $156,000. Placement within the pay range is at Grant Thornton’s discretion, and it is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, job -related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, progression within the role, geographic location, and internal equity.
